ENPROTEC’s briquetting technology assists in creating additional revenue streams by improving the ability to handle fine material. This provides an economical solution for replacing the wet process of agglomeration, involving costly drying and binder techniques.

Proven Success:

Enprotec has designed and built the only full scale, operational briquetting facility in the country.

Laboratory Facilities:

Full scale lab and pilot scale test work is performed to ensure feasibly and ensure a successful project.

ENPROTEC is the exclusive agent and distributor for SAHUT-CONREUR briquetting equipment in Southern Africa.

  • Design of Briquetting and Compaction: Granulation Plants
  • Test runs and feasibility studies at the pilot plant
  • Custom: Made production of batches at the production plant
  • Rental of complete units for compaction: Granulation of chemicals or pharmaceutical products for testing or for small site productions
  • Rental of industrial scale presses and crushers/granulators for industrial site testing
  • Basic and detail engineering of briquetting and compaction: Granulatìon units
  • Design and manufacture of the key equipment (briquettìng presses – compactors, mixers, granulators/Crushers, coating drums)
  • Technical assistance for mounting and commissioning of the units
  • Training of operators
  • Supply of spare parts
  • Modernisation of existing plants and equipment
  • Adaption of SAHUT-CONREUR technology to equipment manufactured by other makers

Why Briquetting?

  • Creation of uniform products (size, volume)
  • Reduce the volume of a powder
  • Stabilise unstable mixtures
  • Improve powder flow
  • Keep a product dust-free

An Environmental Solution:

  • Recycle industrial waste
  • Recycle beneficiated dust in an industrial process
  • Eliminate pollution problems caused by airborne dust – air and ground pollution

An Economical Solution:

  • Replace the wet process of agglomeration involving costly drying and binder addition techniques
  • Allow more flexibility in the choice of raw materials purchased at the most attractive price (compound fertilisers)
  • Adapt easily and quickly to a wider range of mixed fertiliser formulas
  • Granule products that cannot be granulated by means of other techniques (wet process)
  • Reduce the packing, storage and transport cost thanks to a volume reduction and higher density of the product
  • Avoid loss of product in the form of dust

Laboratory Test Lab Facilities:

  • Laboratory press bríquetting enables the client to conduct bríquetting and granulation feasibility studies on a wide variety of products in very small quantities (about 600g for one test)
  • The studies include moisture analysis, water resistance and strength tests
  • If the results of the tests meet the client’s requirements, the project can move over to pilot scale briquetting

Pilot Plant:

  • The ENPROTEC pilot plant is used for any feasibility testing on briquettìng, and can be re-located to a client’s site if needed.
